4 Thoughts on “The Big Picture Story Bible”
We have read the Jesus Storybook Bible with Emma for a couple of years now and have loved it bc every story points to Jesus. Funny that you posted about the Big Picture Bible because we just got it in the mail today! We are ready for some new stories! 🙂
What a funny coincidence! I know you will enjoy it…and we may just have to get the Jesus Storybook Bible next! Hope y'all are well =)
we love the Jesus Storybook Bible– the stories are all knit together to show that the whole bible is about God redeeming his people through Jesus.
We LOVE both books! That is so cool that your church gives these out. Wow what a blessing!! Anyway, we read this one each night to Eowyn before bed, and I'm VERY familiar with both it and the Jesus Storybook Bible from teaching preschool for 3 years. I find that BPSB is better for younger kids (up to age 4 or so), with BIG pictures, simple straightforward language, and repeated themes/pictures (like Jesus, sacrifice, the temple) and phrases "God's people in God's place"… Excellent. The JSB is perfect for a bit older kids (4-6 prime age), and it has a poetry that is breathtaking and will move you to tears. It does a great job of using every story to point the reader back to Christ. We plan on giving Eowyn the bilingual version of the JSB for her next Easter basket, as both of these complement each other very well.
