Getting outside of city life is a very important part of Latvian culture, especially during the summer months. Many people have family homes out in the countryside, but there are also a number of camp facilities all over the country. Church groups often organize family camps at these retreat centers. We participated in two camps this summer, one for our church, and one for families of students and alumni of the Baltic Pastoral Institute.
At the end of July, our church spent a weekend fellowshipping, worshiping, praying, and planning for the coming year. God really worked in hearts during this time to renew our passion for the local body of Christ here in Ādaži and how we can be reaching out to our community.
We also were able to celebrate the baptism of a new sister in Christ!

In August, we headed to the west coast of Latvia to a 3 day camp for students/families of BPI. Many of these students/graduates are now pastors and church leaders. We were asked to lead the worship for the weekend, and Patty was asked to share on a panel discussing what it means to be a pastor’s wife.

Please pray for our church and for our sister churches across this country!
